The Spring Fair hosted rides, petting zoos, reptile shows and delicious food from every corner of the globe. There were also performances from local groups, including Riverwood Public School and the Riverwood Community Choir. Parkour, a military-style obstacle course, was a popular class for the bold-hearted and special guests on the day, Federal Member for Watson The Hon Tony Burke MP and State Member for Lakemba Mr Jihad Dib MP, were spotted enjoying the day with some of the local performers.

"As a long-time supporter of the Fair, PAYCE is proud to support such a fantastic event for local residents," said Dominic Sullivan, Director at PAYCE.

At PAYCE, we have always enjoyed supporting the Riverwood community, whether it is through the Community Centre or working with fellow sponsors, SGCH and Canterbury-Bankstown Council," continued Dominic Sullivan.

The event was also a celebration of the success of the Café's social enterprise, a PAYCE led initiative since 2013, supported by the Riverwood Community Centre, Dasco Australia, SGCH and Schibello Caffe. As part of the program, trainees are mentored in all aspects of hospitality and are able to acquire a Certificate III in Hospitality, barista training, RSA and RCG certificates, and much more.

"We're so proud of all 10 graduates that have completed the program since we launched it four years ago," said Dominic Sullivan, PAYCE Director.

Today's ceremony is a fitting celebration of how we can help youth in our communities feel supported and equip them for a positive future," Dominic Sullivan added.

ROAR celebrates seven years in Riverwood – Dominic Sullivan

ROAR integral to the Riverwood Community – Dominic Sullivan

The group was originally called the Resident's Advisory Committee, before evolving into ROAR three years ago when residents started moving into Washington Park. Over the years, membership has grown and ROAR has become an integral part of the community.

Members volunteer at local community events, take part in fundraising initiatives and help organise the weekly Friday BBQs, a much loved tradition in Riverwood.

A video organised by ROAR was then played, illustrating how the Riverwood community has transformed over time, aided by PAYCE's ongoing commitment.

"It is humbling to be acknowledged by ROAR, but I believe it's really PAYCE that should be saying thank you," said Dominic Sullivan, PAYCE Director.

ROAR has welcomed us into the community, and working together we've built a unique place founded on community involvement and connection," continued Dominic Sullivan.
